Good Morning,
Bill S writes: After many months of campaigning, Mitt Romney has finally taken the lead in polling for the election. But why has it taken so long for the American people to catch onto the Mittmentum? It begins with two key events: the Republican National Convention and the Presidential debates. And interestingly, Hurricane Sandy also shows us some interesting insights about how the mainstream media has dealt with Barack Obama – The Man Who Never Was.
One of the seminal events of the election season was Clint Eastwood’s appearance at the RNC. Granted, the Eastwood “speech” was a bit odd. But something happened in those moments that had previously not been seen by most Americans: the mocking of Barack Obama. Prior to that moment, the American media had a slobbering lovefest with the President and has consistently and steadfastly refused to expose his weaknesses. But the appearance of Eastwood at the biggest political event to date was something they could not ignore. And Eastwood delivered a stunning blow to the media’s narrative. He depicted Obama as “the empty chair“.
So I — so I’ve got Mr. Obama sitting here. And he’s – I just was going to ask him a couple of questions. But, you know about, I remember three and a half years ago, when Mr. Obama won the election. And though I wasn’t a big supporter, I was watching that night when he was having that thing and they were talking about hope and change and they were talking about, yes we can, and it was dark outdoors, and it was nice, and people were lighting candles. And they were saying, you know, I just thought, this is great. Everybody’s crying. Oprah was crying.
I was even crying. And then finally – I haven’t cried that hard since I found out that there’s 23 million unemployed people in this country.
Now that is something to cry for because that is a disgrace, a national disgrace, and we haven’t done enough, obviously – this administration hasn’t done enough to cure that. Whatever interest they have is not strong enough, and I think possibly now it may be time for somebody else to come along and solve the problem.
So, so, Mr. President, how do you, how do you handle, how do you handle promises that you’ve made when you were running for election and how do you handle, how do you handle it?
I mean, what do you say to people? Do you just — you know — I know — people were wondering. You don’t? You don’t handle it.
Well, I know even some of the people in your own party were very disappointed when you didn’t close Gitmo. And I thought, well closing Gitmo — why close that, we spent so much money on it. But, I thought maybe as an excuse.
Oh, What do you mean shut up?
OK, I thought it was just because somebody had the stupid idea of trying terrorists in downtown New York City. Maybe that was it.
Prior to Eastwood’s Obama “interview”, had we seen that kind of public ridicule of Barack Obama? Of course the MSM did their sworn duty and tried to write it off as Eastwood being crazy and senile. But people heard it. They were watching the convention to see the mystery guest. And he delivered. The press couldn’t bury this one on page C6. It was front and center, in front of millions of voters.
And then came the debates. In that memorable first debate, Mitt Romney didn’t mock Obama. Obama did it to himself. The Empty Chair showed the world that Eastwood wasn’t just kidding. He was an empty suit that night, not an empty chair. Tens of millions of debate viewers finally saw the truth of Barack Obama, and the truth about Mitt Romney. Romney wasn’t the evil extremist painted by the MSM. He was presidential. And the President of the United States – was not. And in the final three debates, both Crazy Joe Biden and Obama showed themselves to be childish and petulant. Their behavior was rude, crude and socially unacceptable. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan were the adults and the current occupants of the highest offices in the USA were boorish. Romney and Ryan looked like President and VP. Not Obama and Biden. Again – America saw the unfiltered truth about who Barack Obama is. And they didn’t like what they saw.
The press has spent 4+ years hiding the truth about Barack Obama, who, as Tony Blankley of the Washington Times pointed out in 2008, strongly resembles the Man Who Never Was. He’s an empty suit with a persona created by the adoring groupies of the press. Blankley wrote:
The image of Barack Obama that the press has presented is not a fair approximation of the real man. They have consciously ignored whole years in his life, and showed a lack of curiosity about such gaps that bespeaks a lack of journalistic instinct. Thus, the public image of Mr. Obama is of a “Man who never was.” I take that phrase from a 1956 movie about a real life WWII British intelligence operation to trick the Germans into thinking the Allies were going to invade Greece, rather than Italy, in 1943. Operation “Mincemeat” involved the acquisition of a human corpse dressed as a Maj. William Martin, R.M. and put into the sea near Spain. Attached to the corpse was a brief-case containing fake letters suggesting that the Allied attack would be against Sardinia and Greece.
To make the operation credible, British intelligence created a fictional life for the corpse — a letter from a lover, tickets to a London theater, all the details of a life — but not the actual life of the dead young man whose corpse was being used. So, too, the man the media has presented to the nation as Mr. Obama is not the real man.
The mainstream media ruthlessly and endlessly repeats any McCain gaffes, while ignoring Obama gaffes. You have to go to weird little Internet sites to see all the stammering and stuttering that Mr. Obama needs before getting out a sentence fragment or two. But all you see on the networks is an eventual one or two clear sentences from Mr. Obama. Nor do you see Mr. Obama’s ludicrous gaffe that Iran is a tiny country and no threat to us. Nor his 57 American states gaffe. Nor his forgetting, if he ever knew, that Russia has a veto in the United Nations. Nor his whining and puerile “come on” when he is being challenged. This is the kind of editing one would expect from Goebbels’ disciples, not Cronkite’s.
You could easily replace “McCain” in those paragraphs with “Romney” and get the exact same picture of the press’s treatment of Obama and Romney in 2012.
And finally, we come to Hurricane Sandy, which has disrupted the campaign schedules of both candidates. On this morning’s “ABC’s This Week”, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said of Obama’s cancellation:
The bigger issue is whether it’s unemployment or it is what’s happened in Benghazi where we’ve had this strange story over the weekend that the Secretary of Defense apparently refused to obey the President’s order if the President is telling the truth and he actually instructed his assistants to get aid to Benghazi. We’re now being told that the Secretary of Defense canceled that. And I think these kinds of things all drag down the Obama campaign.
You’ll notice he’s canceling his trips over the hurricane. He did not cancel his trips over Benghazi. And so you have to wonder between Benghazi, the price of gasoline, and unemployment just how much burden the President’s going to carry into this last week.
Erick Erickson pointed out Gingrich’s comments via his Twitter/Facebook feed. One of Erick’s FB commenters made a keen observation: ”Because you can’t hide the hurricane, its going to be happening to people and the press can’t conceal it. Benghazi simply never happened” Like the Eastwood talk, like the debates: you can’t hide a hurricane. Unfortunately, the press has hidden Benghazi. Now it’s up to us to turn Obama’s despicable response to that event into the hurricane it should be…and my colleagues have done a stellar job in doing just that.
But you know, in fairness to the mainstream media, we probably shouldn’t expect them to behave any differently. It’s just what they are.
Thankfully, certain events are beyond the media’s control. Some events are political (or real) hurricanes. Let’s hope the storm on November 6th blows Mitt Romney into the White House and Barack Obama permanently back to Chicago.
One final thing – Obama said that the MTV Music Industry Should be transformed into ‘Explicit Political’ propaganda tool. Interestingly enough The Future Children Project quickly gave us this chilling video:
Here are the words:
Imagine an America
Where strip mines are fun and free
Where gays can be fixed
And sick people just die
And oil fills the sea

We don’t have to pay for freeways!
Our schools are good enough
Give us endless wars
On foreign shores
And lots of Chinese stuff
We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And we’re kinda blaming you

We haven’t killed all the polar bears
But it’s not for lack of trying
Big Bird is sacked
The Earth is cracked
And the atmosphere is frying
Congress went home early
They did their best we know
You can’t cut spending
With elections pending
Unless it’s welfare dough
We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And we’re kinda blaming you
Find a park that is still open
And take a breath of poison air
They foreclosed your place
To build a weapon in space
But you can write off your au pair
It’s a little awkward to tell you
But you left us holding the bag
When we look around
The place is all dumbed down
And the long term’s kind of a drag
We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And yeah, we’re blaming you
You did your best
You failed the test
Mom and Dad
We’re blaming you!
LOCAL:
A note from a former U. S. Marine and Vietnam veteran living in Danbury, Connecticut…
I am a 67-year-old former Marine and a Vietnam veteran. And I say: “Forget about living to age 75 in the USA !”
This morning at Danbury Hospital here in Connecticut, I was scheduled for a cardio-lite stress test. This is a treadmill stress test where nuclear dye is injected into your bloodstream and you are put in a CAT scan or something similar in order to take a picture of your heart. If all is good, the heart shows up red; if there are blocked arteries anywhere, the heart shows up pink. I have had three of these tests in the past twelve years due to blocked arteries discovered in 2000. They use the test to determine if I need a “roto-rooter” or a bypass operation.
So, I arrived for my previously schedule appointment at the hospital at 8 a.m. this morning and in the process of checking in, the lady in the front desk said that my appointment has been canceled. She made a call, spoke with someone, and then she handed me the phone. It was a nurse in the Cardiology Department who said that my medical insurance carrier denied the procedure.
I said, “It is a routine part of my heart maintenance program as ordered by my PCP and with approval from my cardiologist who is the head of Danbury Cardiology Department, which is right where I am standing right now.”
She went, “Yes, but our request was denied.”
So I said, “I have Medicare, so what is my backup insurance doing denying anything.”
Then the bombshell… she said, “It was the Medicare Board that denied the procedure.”
At that point, I turned to everyone behind me, and it was a long line, and I said to them “Well, you won’t have to wait too long today because my stress test procedure was just canceled by a Medicare Death Panel. I am only 67 so can you imagine what is going to happen when we really get old?”
The entire waiting room and everyone there from patients to staff just went dead silent.
Then, I turned to the front desk staff and told them, “I guess I will have to write a letter to the editor of the Danbury News Times and call my senators and congressman and let them know the Death Panels have already convened”.
Then I walked out.
By the time I got home the message machine was blinking. My PCP had called and so did the hospital and guess what? Medicare decided to approve my stress test procedure, and I should get back down to the hospital, and they would fit me in right away for the 3-hour procedure.
I called back and told them that I couldn’t make it, I was going fishing because I didn’t know how many more fishing trips I could get in before I went into cardiac arrest, but not to worry about me costing the government any money because I am a 30% disabled Army veteran due to Agent Orange poisoning, which is what caused this heart problem to begin with, and I qualify to be buried for free in a plain pine box in the cheap graves section at any national cemetery. I certainly don’t want to cost our government any money. So, maybe we just won’t do the procedure anymore and we can use the money to redistribute it to all of the illegals to keep them alive so they can mow the lawns at the national cemeteries.
And so this note is for everyone to know that the Death Panel crap has already started. And if we don’t vote this guy and his criminal cronies out of office this November, then we should all expect to die younger and as completely broke paupers as the country goes further down to hell.
Feel free to distribute my note to anyone and make it your mission to not only make your vote count in November 2012 but on behalf of all of us, please also make an effort to help convince everyone to NOT vote for the present White House occupant or any of his cronies in the November 2012 election if they want to receive proper medical care and expect to live to age 75 or older!
You already know Nita Lowey is bad for the district but IF YOU THINK THAT JOE CARVIN IS A REPUBLICAN THINK AGAIN!
· He voted for Obama in 2008; wife made two contributions to the Obama Re-Election Fund in September, 2011 (FEC records)
· He lived for an extended time during his adult life outside of the U.S., only returning in 2002 (worked in London, 1994-2002, and for US AID for years prior)
· Returned to the U.S. in 2002 – registered as Non-Party voter; switched party registration to Republican in 2005 to run for public office (political expediency) and has only been a “Republican for 7 years
· He is Pro-Choice
· He attended the Kennedy School of Government and the United Nations African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (neither are Conservative, and both have obviously shaped his non-Republican political positions, views and philosophies)
· He claims to be a fiscal conservative and touts the “large” tax cuts that he championed in the Town of Rye, where he serves as Supervisor. The 2012 budget for the Town of Rye is only slightly above $3 million, smaller than most Village budgets in the surrounding area and the smallest Town budget in Westchester County. His continual references to “25% tax cuts” are nothing to speak of when you consider the actual amount of dollars that were cut
· He claims to be a financial expert yet three New York State Tax Warrants were issued against him for failure to pay his taxes for 2006, 2008 and 2009, totaling more than $90,000 owed. The last two warrants were issued to him while he served as Rye Town Supervisor
· He was endorsed by the Log Cabin Republicans – one of only three NY Republican Congressional Candidates to receive that national endorsement (only 19 candidates nationally). Acceptance would indicate that Carvin subscribes to the platform of this group; “…to build a…more inclusive Republican Party…while advocating for the freedom and equality of gay and lesbian Americans…” The group is “dedicated to representing the interests of gay and lesbian Americans and their allies.”
· As Rye Town Supervisor, initiated the “Model American Community Project…The ultimate goal of the project would be to have a ‘eutopic’ community – an attainable ‘utopia’.” Creating utopias is not the goal of Republicans, Conservatives, or Americans. Utopias are a tenet of Socialism – to create a more equal society. Carvin’s 2012 Town Budget includes a 57.5% increase for this project (adds a second project coordinator). Carvin’s project fits nicely into Obama’s “Re-distribution of wealth plan” (http://www.townofryeny.com/index.php?act=view_supervisor) (http://townofryeny.com/ryetown/ModAmCom.php)
· He attended the Republican State Convention (March, 2012) in an attempt to obtain the Republican endorsement to run against U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Out of 62 County Committees, Carvin received the support of only one – Westchester County. While at the Convention, it became apparent that Carvin did not fit the mold of a true Republican, and a letter written by Franklin County Party Chair Jim Ellis exposed Carvin’s lack of Republican principles. (This letter, along with additional supporting documentation, is posted on my website under “Candidate”)
· In 2006, he founded “One World United and Virtuous”, which subscribes to the policy of Obama’s One World Government,…”The notion that single nations can unilaterally solve global problems at the national level on an increasingly interconnected planet is at best quaint and at worst dangerously naïve.” One World also promotes a One World economy, World Citizenship, Global Collective Action, shared wealth, and a host of other UN type policies
· He authored “An Invitation to One World’s Pilot Study Circles”, which states: “The need for effective global collective action may no longer be a fanciful, idealistic wish – it is an absolute necessity” (www.oneworlduv.com)
JOE CARVIN’S BELIEFS ARE DANGEROUS TO AMERICA AND 100 PERCENT IN LINE WITH OBAMA’S SOCIALIST AGENDA.

I did audio recently for a campaign. we waited almost 4 hours for the governor. If Mittens actually showed up for his duties on time, pointing the finger instead of seeking solutions maybe this would be a bit easier to swallow. Look at the facts and read romneys book. if you dont have a solid plan how could you possibly run a country. Please read and do your research then decide. and yes.. im a republican who is having difficulty with this election.
I think the majority realizes that Romney is not ‘the savior’ either but most acknowledge that the R/R ticket will substantially S L O W down the ruination of America. It is not until all representatives are replaced with ‘regular non political career’ individuals, that we will see a return of our county’s strength, leadership, and greatness. It is in that vein that we vote for the R/R ticket for we understand that under another 4 years of O, our country, as we knew and know it, will be but a memory. The proverbial ‘cradle to grave’ government will replace our Constitution in full. So, we concur, do your research and then decide.
